About Us
Owned and operated by Amber Schorpp, Core K9 Training is a dedicated dog training facility located in Richmond, Kentucky. With over 15 years of experience in the animal industry, Amber has a deep passion for helping dogs and their owners build strong, trusting relationships.
Amber's journey began with a love for animals at a young age, volunteering at local shelters and rescues. Her experience spans managing equine facilities and delving into dog training, particularly with Bully breeds. She has earned multiple titles with her American Bullies in obedience and conformation, actively competing in UKC, AKC, and PSA events.
At Core K9 Training, the focus is on creating a solid foundation of obedience, ensuring dogs respond reliably in various environments. The mission is to assist every dog, regardless of history, providing both obedience training and behavior modification. Amber believes in training not just the dog but also the owner, fostering effective communication and confidence.

Core K9 was the best decision I’ve ever made for me and my dog! He is a very active, and sometimes reactive breed. He went from walking (and pulling)me to me walking with him walking gently by my side. We enjoy our times walking long trails so much now..I’m not worried about him pulling me down the trail. He’s also very attentive to in-house commands, like place, that help him not be to over-anxious to visit, kiss etc. with visitors who are not used to active dogs. He’s a complete, attentive joy! Showing no reaction to other dogs we meet out trail-walking, and walking in my neighborhood who are somewhat reactive. I am nothing but 100% satisfied with Core 9! At first I thought their prices seemed a bit high, but the training they have given me and my dog was invaluable, and worth every penny!
